TOPIC SYNOPSIS
. . .
“You don't get harmony when everybody sings the
same note.“
Steve Jobs (Apple), Tony Hsieh (Zappos),
Rosabeth Moss-Kanter (Professor at Harvard Business
School), Indra Nooyi (PepsiCo) – distinctive personalities
that have forged unique paths to success. What sets
these leaders apart is their ability to harness that
very unique journey into inspiring the people they
work with towards excellence – the hallmark of authentic
leaders.
In this session we will explore the power
of authenticity in building a leadership platform.
Women professionals are frequently highly attuned to
expectations placed upon them by their superiors (and
peers), and are focused on identifying and then cultivating
the traits and behaviors that seem to lead to success
in a given organization. This focus, however, can sometimes
stand in the way of developing your very own authentic
leadership style.
Drawing from the emerging field of
positive psychology, we build on the idea that your
personal strengths are the foundation of your leadership,
and that it is more productive to build on those than
focusing on mitigating your “weaknesses.“ Understanding
yourself, owning your personal experiences, and acting
in a manner consistent with your true self define personal
authenticity and provide the basis for authentic
leadership.
This interactive session will introduce
tools and exercises to help you discover how to define
and draw power from your authenticity and how this
will impact your professional relationships and build
your capacity as a leader.
Agenda
- What is authentic leadership?
- Identifying your own authenticity
- What is holding you back?
- Integrating “being” and “doing”
LEARNING
OUTCOMES . . .
Key learning outcomes:
- Participants identify key aspects of their
own personal authenticity
- Participants shift limiting beliefs about their
personal power (vs. position power)
- Participants discover how to tap into their
personal authenticity to become more fearless
in their decision-making and more creative in
overcoming challenges
- Participants discover how to forge strong team
relationships based on mutual authenticity
- Participants expand their leadership capacity
by operating at a higher level of authenticity
and transparency

TOPIC SYNOPSIS
. . .
Effective leaders make a difference by finding ways
to sustain people’s level of commitment and support
especially in the difficult periods all organizations
experience at one time or another. Sustaining momentum
is a key leadership domain. Typically people cannot
sustain their levels of commitment to, and engagement
in, organizational purpose and goals on their own.
This non-engagement results in poor performance,
limited productivity, and an erosion of the bottom
line. People need consistent affirmation of their
value and contribution to the organization in order
to know that their efforts are appreciated. This
can be accomplished through acknowledgment.
Leaders can tap into the power of personal commitment
and dedication by acknowledging people in an authentic,
heartfelt manner. Leaders who model true acknowledgment
behavior will inspire others to do the same and to
want to dramatically increase their levels of contribution
to the organization.
This program is highly interactive and includes a
Leadership Acknowledgment Self-Assessment™, case
studies, role playing, and a personal leadership
action plan. Participants will receive The Power
